Roberts Creek Director for the SCRD If you live in Area D, Roberts Creek, Kelly Backs is your current director at the SCRD board.

After a lifetime of traveling Canada, time well spent in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast, rural New Brunswick, as well as Salt Spring Island, Director Kelly Backs finally landed in Roberts Creek to stay, in 2010. The last 12 years has been spent raising a son on his own and running a successful blacksmithing business. The community he's found in the Creek is an endless inspiration

to it’s director, who spends his spare time playing drums and has put in 3 years as community columnist for the Coast Reporter, and 6 years as a volunteer Firefighter. Director Backs is excited for this chance to serve the place he loves in this new and important way and is humbled by the trust given him by his community.

Important message from Sunshine Coast Regional District :

Service Disruption Tuesday May 5, 2026 – SCRD Orange Route Only – Cancelled and Rescheduled to Saturday May 9.



Due to a mechanical failure curbside service for the orange collection route in Langdale and Upper Roberts Creek is cancelled today.

If you are in the orange route please bring your green bin inside as soon as possible to prevent wildlife from accessing your bin. Service is rescheduled for Saturday May 9 at 8am.



Reminders will go into the curbside app for affected residents.
