Community Reminder🔥🔥🔥

Some piles of burnt school papers were found behind the Rec Centre.

Parents, please talk to your children about the dangers of starting fires in areas that are not designated for fires. The fire pit at the outdoor rink was removed because of misuse of the area, and we do not want to see fires being started in other areas of town.

If your child wants to have a fire in the evening, please ensure it is in a supervised backyard fire pit.

Thankfully, no damage was done this time, but there is now a mess that needs to be cleaned up. More importantly, fires can quickly get out of control and have the potential to cause serious damage.

Please take a moment to talk to your children about fire safety and the importance of only having fires in approved, supervised areas. Thank you for helping keep our community safe.

Markets on Main are back this September!

Vendor spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration is free. Vendors are asked to provide their own tables and display equipment.

We are also looking for local community groups interested in hosting a BBQ fundraiser during the event. If your organization would like to participate, please contact the Recreation Office for more information.

Unfortunately, the fire pit at the Borderland Co-op Outdoor Rink is being removed for the remainder of the summer.
Our goal is to provide community spaces that everyone can enjoy and treat with respect. Until recently, residents have done an excellent job of using these amenities responsibly. When these spaces are misused or damaged, we have no choice but to remove them. It is disappointing that the actions of a few have affected the entire community.
If an individual or group would like to use the fire pit this summer, please contact the Recreation Office or the Town Office and arrangements can be made.
Additionally, a couple of items were left behind in the rink parking lot. If any of these items belong to you, please claim them at the rink as soon as possible.
