A Time to Remember. A Commitment to Continue.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, WRSD honours Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities, and the children who never returned home.

Across WRSD, truth is being held and shared in many ways - through art, story, reflection, ceremony, Indigenous voices, and learning together. These images represent more than activities for a single day. They reflect opportunities to listen deeply, sit with difficult truths, and better understand the responsibilities we carry forward.

September 30 is a day of commemoration, but it is not the beginning or the end of reconciliation. When the orange shirts are put away, our responsibility remains: to continue learning, strengthen relationships, make space for Indigenous voices, and turn understanding into meaningful action.

Truth comes before reconciliation. The work continues - every day, in every school, through the choices we make together.
