📚 Come pull some holds with me!

This isn't all of the holds that I needed to pull, but I got interrupted before I could finish. 😂 I thought this was a good little glimpse into what pulling holds actually looks like.

Some books were easy to find… and some took a little hunting. 👀 And of course, a few were sitting practically right in front of me the whole time. 😂

It’s always a little satisfying when you finally find the one you’ve been looking for!

📚 Will it stay or will it go? 👀

I'm working through the SI–SN section on the Last Chance Shelf. These are books that haven't been checked out in the past 2 years and are getting one last chance to find a reader.

But this section had a surprise—the oldest book is also the most checked-out! 👀

I guess you really can't judge a book by its age. 😉📖

Would you have guessed the oldest one would be the most popular?

📚 The first day back at school means the books are coming back too!

Some of these were checked out over the summer, while others have been on loan since school let out in June. Either way, it's fun to see the books making their way back to the library! 📖💙

And now they're ready to find their next readers.

📚 Back to one of my regular routines now that summer is over!

These are books travelling between libraries—books our patrons have put on hold from another library, as well as books from our collection that other libraries have requested for their patrons.

It's pretty neat how a book from one library can travel across the province to find its next reader. 💙📖

We're moving through the SN–STI section of the children's fiction shelves. Books that haven't been checked out in the past 2 years get moved to our Last Chance Shelf to make room for books our readers are actually looking for.

But before they go, let's see which book is the oldest, newest, and most popular in this section. 👀

A little behind-the-scenes library work! 📚

I’m using Kapco Cover II to add a little extra protection to our softcover books. The cover is firmer than the original book cover, which should help the book hold up better to being handled, shelved and borrowed over and over again.

I’ve done a few books with this product now, and the process is fairly simple once you get the hang of it. I thought I’d show how I do it from start to finish.

Now comes the interesting part—seeing how well these covers hold up once the books have been in circulation for a while! 👀📚

Summer reading displays are coming down, and it’s time to make room for a new season! ☀️📚➡️✏️
