Please note that for the 2027 fiscal year, grants for possible general community support (and which are not tied to possible Permissive Tax Exemption reimbursement) will continue as per past practice; however, in order to streamline this intake period with our Permissive Tax Exemption program, the annual application deadline has been changed from October 31 to July 15 of a given year. The City of Rossland will be paving Cook Avenue from Monday, June 8 to Wednesday, June 10.
👉 What to expect:
• Road closures or limited access
• Traffic delays & detours
• Crews working throughout the day
🚫 Please avoid parking on the street during this time
🚸 Follow all posted signage and traffic control directions

Cook Avenue may be closed to through traffic at times.

FIFA World Cup 2026™ is the largest tournament in soccer history, taking place from June 11th to July 19th in 16 cities across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, including seven matches hosted in Vancouver. British Columbia will step onto the world stage, and the excitement is building in every corner of our province.

Whether you plan to travel to Vancouver for a match, or if you will participate in local festivities in your home community, you are invited to join in the celebration.

Locally, the City of Nelson, British Columbia and the Nelson Soccer Association are thrilled to announce that Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™ is making a stop in Nelson to celebrate with the community on June 24, 2026 at Lakeside Park - where screening of the Canada vs. Switzerland game at 12pm will take place - and will also include free, family-friendly, and inclusive programming, live entertainment, cultural presentations, refreshments, soccer-themed activities, and more throughout the afternoon.

The Rossland Pool is officially OPEN for the season! Come down during lap or public swim hours to purchase memberships for the season!

Our staff have been hard at work training and getting everything ready, and we can't wait to welcome everyone back to the pool.
