Fun is often seen as the opposite of focus or discipline in sport, but the best archers actually know they can perfectly exist together!🫶🏼
When athletes enjoy the process, they stay engaged longer, learn faster, and perform with more freedom and confidence.
Intensity and joy don’t cancel each other out. They strengthen each other.

“Freeze” exercise.
This class missed a few kids and the 4 here were NOT paying any attention at all doing archery. We might as well have served tea and cookies 😂☕️🍪
Zero focus present. All 4 kept shooting their 3 arrows within 10 seconds.
So we changed up the game a bit and had them be in the moment with this freeze exercise. This way they learn that a shot excises of a sequence of steps, not just drawing and releasing quickly. It brings them back in the moment, no rush, one arrow at a time.
There was no talking allowed on the line, till after the : whistles.
🤣🤣🤣 You should have heard them rattling from the line to the target to get their arrows! They wanted to just “talk” so bad, they didn’t even say anything that made sense!
