A few weeks ago, we celebrated the years of service of staff across the division, including two incredible 45-year milestones. 🎉

For almost half a century, Mr. Tuen and Mr. Starko have been looking after our schools and supporting our learning communities as caretakers. Between the two of them, they’ve worked at nearly every school in the division and have seen generations of students, staff, and families come through our doors.

Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and the lasting impact you’ve made over the years. Congratulations, Mr. Tuen and Mr. Starko! 👏

🕊️ Today, youth came together to explore what positive peace means in our community and how they can be leaders and changemakers through their everyday actions.

Through discussion, and reflection, students shared ideas about inclusion, belonging, empathy, and building stronger communities.

As part of the workshop, youth were also invited to express their vision of peace through art and poetry, with submissions to be displayed at City Hall during Culture Days this September. 🎨✨

Building peace starts with conversation, connection, and youth voices.

Thank you to the Outreach High School for having us.
