EXERCISE ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26 🇨🇦

From 22–30 August 2026, soldiers from the Lincoln and Welland Regiment joined the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada during 31 Canadian Brigade Group’s Exercise ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26.

Operating as a combined tactical grouping, 70 soldiers from the Lincoln and Welland Regiment joined 83 soldiers from the RHFC, bringing the grouping to a peak strength of 153 personnel—the largest troop presence on the exercise.

Training focused on Level 3 and Level 4 Battle Task Standards, with an emphasis on defensive operations. Working alongside other 31 CBG organizations provided an opportunity to strengthen interoperability, develop leadership at all levels, and operate effectively as part of a larger tactical grouping.

Exercise ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26 demonstrated the value of collective training—bringing soldiers together to build capable teams and maintain operational readiness.

Du 22 au 30 août 2026, des soldats du Lincoln and Welland Regiment se sont joints aux Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada dans le cadre de l’exercice ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26 du 31e Groupe-brigade du Canada (31 GBC).

Opérant au sein d’un groupement tactique combiné, 70 soldats du Lincoln and Welland Regiment ont rejoint 83 soldats du RHFC, portant l’effectif total du groupement à 153 militaires — soit le contingent le plus important de l’exercice. L’entraînement était axé sur les normes de tâches de combat de niveaux 3 et 4, en mettant l’accent sur les opérations défensives.

La collaboration avec d’autres unités du 31 GBC a permis de renforcer l’interopérabilité, de développer le leadership à tous les échelons et d’opérer efficacement au sein d’un groupement tactique de plus grande envergure. L’exercice ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26 a démontré toute la valeur de l’entraînement collectif, qui permet de rassembler les soldats pour former des équipes compétentes et maintenir l’état de préparation opérationnelle.

Watch and shoot 👀💥

From 8-9 August 2026, the Lincoln & Welland Regiment and the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada conducted a joint small arms range on Ex LINCOLN SHOOTER at Winona Rifle Range. The tactical group conducted ranges on two weapon systems, the C7A2 rifle (PWT 1 & 3), and the C22 pistol (PWT 1).

Ranges such as these, keeps our soldiers operational, and reinforces core marksmanship principles, ensuring they are prepared for the high-intensity demands of modern operations. Following this range, focus will then shift to preparing for Ex ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26 in the coming weeks.

Observer et tirer 👀💥 Les 8 et 9 août 2026, le Lincoln & Welland Regiment et les Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada ont mené un exercice conjoint de tir aux armes légères (exercice LINCOLN SHOOTER) au champ de tir de Winona. Le groupement tactique a effectué des tirs avec deux systèmes d'armes : le fusil C7A2 (niveaux PWT 1 et 3) et le pistolet C22 (niveau PWT 1). De tels exercices maintiennent la préparation opérationnelle de nos soldats et renforcent les principes fondamentaux du tir, garantissant ainsi qu'ils sont prêts à répondre aux exigences de haute intensité des opérations modernes. À la suite de cet exercice, l'attention se portera sur la préparation de l'exercice ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26 au cours des prochaines semaines.

Congratulations.

📡 When every second counts, communication is critical.

On 28–29 June 2026, members of The Lincoln and Welland Regiment, 31 Signal Regiment, The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, and volunteer radio operators from the Hamilton Amateur Radio Club came together for Exercise JIMMY SKYWAVE.

This annual exercise put communications to the test, giving participants the opportunity to sharpen their technical skills, practice operating in challenging conditions, and strengthen the partnership between the Canadian Armed Forces and Canada's dedicated amateur radio community.

Working together today helps ensure we're ready to support Canadians when it's needed most.

On 13 June 2026, members of The Lincoln & Welland Regiment proudly participated in Doors Open St. Catharines, a special event celebrating the City of St. Catharines' 150th anniversary.

The event provided residents and visitors with a unique opportunity to explore heritage, cultural, educational, and business locations that honour the past, celebrate the present, and help shape the future of our vibrant community.

As part of the event, Lake Street Armoury welcomed guests to discover one of St. Catharines' most prominent historic landmarks. Reflecting Canada's early 20th-century militia movement, the armoury continues to serve as the home of The Lincoln & Welland Regiment and its dedicated soldiers.

Thank you to everyone who visited, asked questions, and learned more about the Regiment's history, service, and ongoing role within our community.


Le 13 juin 2026, les membres du Régiment Lincoln & Welland ont fièrement participé à Portes ouvertes St. Catharines, un événement spécial célébrant le 150e anniversaire de la ville de St. Catharines. Cet événement a offert aux résidents et aux visiteurs une occasion unique de découvrir des sites patrimoniaux, culturels, éducatifs et commerciaux qui honorent le passé, célèbrent le présent et contribuent à façonner l'avenir de notre dynamique communauté. Dans le cadre de cet événement, le manège militaire de Lake Street a accueilli les visiteurs et leur a fait découvrir l'un des sites historiques les plus importants de St. Catharines. Today, we take a closer look at a local memorial for the Regiments sacrifices during world War 2. Many who drive passed Lake street Armoury may see “Press On” -  a late‑production M5A1 Stuart tank that served in the European theatre. Originally with the British Columbia Regiment, it was disabled by a mine in Holland in February 1945 and later recovered and given new life by the Pioneer Platoon under Sgt Roy Johnson.

The turret was removed and the vehicle converted into a command and reconnaissance tank for Lt‑Col Rowan Coleman, whose favourite expression gave the tank its nickname. After the war, the Lincoln and Welland Regiment selected the tank as a souvenir when it arrived back in Canada in March 1946.

In June 1994 Press On was relocated to it’s current position in front of Lake Street Armoury and is symbolic of the Regiment’s service & sacrifices in WW2.

Aujourd'hui, nous nous intéressons de plus près à un monument commémoratif local dédié aux sacrifices du Régiment durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Nombreux sont ceux qui, en passant devant le manège militaire de Lake Street, aperçoivent « Press On », un char M5A1 Stuart de fin de production ayant servi sur le théâtre d'opérations européen. Appartenant initialement au British Columbia Regiment, il fut mis hors de combat par une mine aux Pays-Bas en février 1945, puis récupéré et remis en état par le Pioneer Platoon du sergent Roy Johnson.

La tourelle fut démontée et le véhicule transformé en char de commandement et de reconnaissance pour le lieutenant-colonel Rowan Coleman, dont l'expression favorite lui valut son surnom. Après la guerre, le Lincoln and Welland Regiment choisit le char comme souvenir à son retour au Canada en mars 1946.

On 3-4 April 1945, C Company, The Lincoln and Welland Regiment crossed the Twente Canal to liberate the town of Delden in The Netherlands. At night Private Clifford Challice of 12 Platoon found himself in a small farmhouse cut off from the company. Despite having a broken arm from a German gr***de, he repulsed multiple attacks using his wounded comrades to reload his magazines. In the morning after Challice collapsed from exhaustion, they found over thirty enemy casualties around the farmhouse. His actions that night lead to him being awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal. He would go on to survive the war and lived until 1996; he is buried in Port Hope Ontario.

Les 3 et 4 avril 1945, la compagnie C du régiment Lincoln et Welland traversa le canal de Twente pour libérer la ville de Delden, aux Pays-Bas. Durant la nuit, le soldat Clifford Challice, de la 12e section, se retrouva isolé du reste de la compagnie dans une petite ferme. Malgré un bras cassé par une gr***de allemande, il repoussa plusieurs attaques, utilisant ses camarades blessés pour recharger ses chargeurs. Au matin, après que Challice se soit effondré d'épuisement, on découvrit plus de trente victimes ennemies autour de la ferme. Ses actes de bravoure cette nuit-là lui valurent la Médaille de conduite distinguée. Il survécut à la guerre et vécut jusqu'en 1996 ; il repose à Port Hope, en Ontario.

Today, On the anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, The Lincoln & Welland Regiment would like to honour the Courage, Sacrifice and Honour of those who served in 1917.

In the face of immense adversity, Canadians stood together and achieved what many thought were impossible, forging our nation into one of unity and strength.

We Remember and Honour their sacrifice

Aujourd'hui, en ce jour anniversaire de la bataille de la crête de Vimy, le Régiment Lincoln & Welland tient à rendre hommage au courage, au sacrifice et à l'honneur de celles et ceux qui ont servi en 1917. Face à une immense adversité, les Canadiens et Canadiennes se sont unis et ont accompli ce que beaucoup croyaient impossible, forgeant ainsi une nation unie et forte. From 25-29 March 2026, soldiers of the Lincoln & Welland Regiment joined our fellow infantry regiments of 31 CBG on Exercise ARROWHEAD STRIKE 26, hosted in Camp Greyling, Michigan.

The Lincoln & Welland Regiment conducted platoon live-fire training in validation to the Army Commander’s intent of high-readiness and scalability of the Army Reserve, and as further work-up for Exercise ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26, which will be conducted in late August 2026, in Greyling, Michigan.

Ducimus ⚔️🪖 Du 25 au 29 mars 2026, des soldats du régiment Lincoln & Welland ont rejoint d'autres régiments d'infanterie du 31e Groupe de combat de cavalerie (31 CBG) pour l'exercice ARROWHEAD STRIKE 26, qui s'est déroulé à Camp Greyling, dans le Michigan.

Le régiment Lincoln & Welland a mené des exercices de tir réel au niveau du peloton afin de valider la volonté du commandant de l'Armée de terre de maintenir un haut niveau de préparation et une capacité d'adaptation des forces de réserve, et de poursuivre la préparation de l'exercice ARROWHEAD GUARDIAN 26, qui aura lieu fin août 2026 à Greyling, dans le Michigan.
