For the 15th year, Mayor Mat Siscoe and Councillor Matt Harris will be collecting donations for Community Care during the Merritton Lions Club Labour Day Parade

Join us on Monday, September 7 and bring along non-perishable food donations to help fill the shopping carts and donation bins along the parade route🥫🧃🥖🫘

This annual food drive helps Community Care stock its shelves heading into the fall, but this year the need is especially important. Community Care has been a key partner in supporting people impacted by the recent flooding in St. Catharines, helping residents access food and essential supplies during recovery.

Bunting Road → Queenston Street → Hartzel Road → Seymour Avenue → Park Avenue

This year's parade follows a new route, starting at 11am from Delta Bingo on Bunting Rd., traveling down Hartzel Rd., and ending at the Merritton Community Centre. Last week we continued our distribution of essential food, hygiene, and cleaning items to people most affected by the recent flooding. We also received and distributed a delivery of fans and dehumidifiers, purchased with the support of City of St. Catharines by Bruce Power from Garden City Home Hardware. Thank you to those organizations for supporting the community, and to our amazing volunteers — including staff from Meridian Credit Union — for making distribution day go so smoothly.

Thanks to Giant FM Radio and Country 89 Radio for their ALL HANDS ON DECK food drive last Thursday at Zehrs Pen Centre or Zehrs Fairview Mall.

In total we received 1,960 lbs of food and $1,306 in financial donations! Thank You!
