🚫🌊 Temporary Swimming Closure at Fisher Lakes

The City of Saint John is advising residents that Fisher Lakes in Rockwood Park are temporarily closed for swimming due to elevated bacteria levels identified through recent Public Health testing.

Lifeguards are on site during regular hours, and signage has been posted to help keep visitors safe. This closure applies only to Fisher Lakes, all other City beaches and swimming areas remain open.

You’re still welcome to enjoy Rockwood Park for walking, hiking, picnicking, and relaxing by the water. Please avoid entering the lake until the advisory is lifted.

Testing is ongoing, and updates will be shared as soon as conditions are safe for swimming to resume.

As summer heats up, the City of Saint John and the Saint John Police Force encourage residents to enjoy our parks and beaches safely and respectfully.

🚗 Drivers are reminded to travel slowly and use caution on park roads and in parking lots. These shared spaces include young children, strollers, bicycles, individuals using mobility aids, and animals.

🏕️ Camping and overnight parking are only permitted in designated campgrounds.

🌅 All City beaches close at dusk.

🐾 Dogs must remain on leash at all times in parks and beaches.

🚭 New Brunswick’s Smoke Free Places Act prohibits smoking and va**ng on any beach, playground, sports area, and within 20 metres of those spaces.

🗑️ Visitors are asked to help keep parks and beaches clean by disposing of litter properly.

🍔 Dominion Park and Rockwood Park offer designated spaces where visitors may use charcoal barbecues safely.

📅 City parks are available to reserve for public and private events using the online reservation portal at www.saintjohn.ca.

📞 Where to Direct Concerns
