We are praying for all those affected. Our deepest condolences to the families and friends for the loss of your loved ones.
To our fellow brothers and sisters attending the scene, stay safe and know we are all thinking of you. 💔🇨🇦

It is with profound sadness that we confirm that a fire incident at CFB Wainwright on October 17 resulted in fatalities and injuries. Our immediate priority is supporting those affected and notifying next of kin.

Yesterday, a few members of the St. Lazare Fire Department, along with members from our Mutual Aid District, joined Search and Rescue personnel from other Manitoba communities for a joint training exercise near Brandon.

Training opportunities like these are always valuable. They allow us to sharpen our existing skills, learn new techniques, and share knowledge and experiences with fellow emergency responders. Working alongside other Search and Rescue teams also helps build the relationships and teamwork that are so important during real emergencies.

Did you know? You do not have to be a member of the Fire Department to become involved in Search and Rescue!

If this is something that interests you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. It’s an opportunity to learn valuable skills, work with dedicated people, and make a difference when someone needs help.

Training together. Learning together. Helping our communities together

We’ve been showing photos of the water levels, but we need to share the positive in all this. Yesterday the call for help came out and it was answered. The people that showed up to help fill sand bags, double up tiger dams, and pump water was nothing short of amazing! Thank you guys. You really pulled through when your community and neighbours needed you!

Folks, please stay out of the flooded area!!! The river is rising fast. The roads are getting dangerous, and resources are spread thin and our fire department is exhausted, if a vehicle gets swept away, we will all be in a terrible situation. we’ll put some photos on here for people to see what’s going on instead of going out there.
