We have spoken about this in the past, but it needs to be reinforced once again.

If you have a fire alarm system at your residence that is monitored by an alarm company, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEY HAVE ALL YOUR UPDATED CONTACT INFORMATION. Further, if you have a cooking incident that sets off your alarm, please answer your phone when the alarm company calls to inform them whether or not the Fire Department is required.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!

Reminder of School Zones | August 31, 2026

School is almost back and safety is our priority. 🚸

The first day of school is August 31, which means our school zones will soon be busier with students, families, buses and increased traffic.

Excited kids can sometimes get distracted and may not always be aware of their surroundings. Please use extra caution, slow down and stay alert when commuting through our community, especially around school zones and crosswalks.

08/30/2026

Tomorrow, August 31, is the first day back to school for most of our students. Drivers, please look out for our kids!

🚸 Drive carefully in school zones and observe the posted speeds and times. The following school zone times are in effect across the Division on all school days:
8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

🛑 When buses have their red flashing lights on, you MUST stop. Do not proceed until the lights are turned off. Children may be getting on or off the bus or crossing the road.

👀 Watch for school crossing guards and always obey their signals.

🏃‍♂️ Stay alert behind the wheel and watch carefully for children who may enter the roadway unexpectedly.

The Town's Utilities Department would like to reassure residents that the municipal water supply remains safe for consumption.

While some residents may have noticed an odor, regular water testing, along with additional sampling from various locations throughout town, has confirmed that all water quality standards continue to be met. All safeguards and treatment processes are operating as intended.

Residents can be confident that the Town's water remains safe for drinking, cooking and everyday use.
