Royal Canadian Legion Branch 217 The Salmo RCL sits in the heart of the village next to the K.P Park; we offer comradery to our members; and work together to support our community.

The Salmo RCL actively supports the Salmo community through bursaries, charitable donations, volunteerism, and mentoring. Our memberships allow us to support community initiatives that promote good health, and well being for our seniors, veteran's and youth. Your membership to our organization provides us funding to support these goals. The Salmo RCL provides a location for our comrades to visit,

support, and encourage each other. Our members volunteer their time to operate our facility and support our community fundraising. Our facility offers our community a full hall that can host 180ppl, with a full industrial size kitchen hosted by our Ladies Auxiliary. During the fall the members participate in weekly Dart Jitneys on Thursday evenings and our popular Meat draws on Saturdays. RCL 217, is a proud member of the Salmo Villiage and we encourage you to support our team.

As per my email the General is moved to September 12th, our first meat draw will also be the 12th.

Big shout out to our volunteers for the recycling project (not all are in the photo) , that's a wrap on our annual fundraiser and our branch is guaranteed to stay open for our 80th Anniversary next year!

Thank you to the Environment team on the farm, you guys rocked it this year and we appreciate it!

Also big thank you to The Salmo Valu Mart for assisting us on the processing and providing the area needed to run such a big project.

We got Gabe! He will be awarded to one of our recycling volunteers during our thank you BBQ later in the summer. Recycling is on a down day tomorrow, will let everyone know after that on the next start date.

Thank you to all our volunteers for making our Anniversary party such a fun afternoon.

Thank you to the Lions for cooking in that heat, and to our Ladies Auxiliary for their valued help in the food delivery, our games team Patty, Stacy, Colleen, Rita, Denise, Felicia

Patty for wearing a T-Rex costume, and our facilities team, Ed, Brandy, Mike, Rob, Steve, Frank, Keith, Bill and the extra help from Jerry, and Bob.

If I missed anyone I truly apologize and I appreciate everyone's time.

Our next volunteer opportunity starts in a few days with the annual recycling project if you are able bodied and available in the mornings please reach out. Help one day or help for the whole event, it's expected to take up to 10 days once we get going.
