❗Users of both the Eagle Bay and Saratoga Water Systems are advised that a WATER QUALITY ADVISORY has been placed on the system effective June 12, 2026.

🔷 People with weakened immune systems, and/or those water users wishing additional protection should take precautions when drinking, washing fruits & vegetables, making beverages or ice, or when brushing teeth. Until notified, these users are advised to:
• Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, or
• Use an alternate, safe source of water.

🔷 Currently the turbidity in both the Eagle Bay and Saratoga Water Systems has not reached the level required for a boil water notice, but out of an abundance of caution, this WATER QUALITY ADVISORY is being put in place.

The advisory has been issued in consultation with Interior Health due to elevated turbidity in the water from the Ross Creek debris flow, recent rain and increased stream flow.

It is now safe to swim at Pebble Beach and Sandy Beach, located at 2475 Blind Bay Road in Electoral Area G.

💧 Water testing conducted by Interior Health show that E.Coli bacteria levels in the lake water have dropped enough to lift the swim advisory.

The CSRD thanks residents for their patience and consideration during the advisory.

🥳 Get ready to Grandstand!

👉 Work to make the grandstand at the Sorrento-Blind Bay Community Park safe for public use is nearly complete. Final touches are underway and fencing will be coming down shortly.

🙌 Special thanks to Walters Construction Ltd., Syme Engineering and the Sorrento Building Centre for donating time, effort and materials to get this temporary repair completed so the grandstand can be used during ball season. We are grateful for their contributions. 🙌

Once you’re FireSmart, you can’t unsee the risks.

Messy gutters, combustible materials stored next to the house, and flammable vegetation all put your house at risk during wildfire season.

Luckily, you can FireSmart your property in a few simple steps:

🍁 Clear leaves and debris from your gutters
🧯 Store flammable materials at least 10 metres from your home
🪴 Swap combustible plants for fire-resistant vegetation.

Summer is right around the corner now's a good time to take a minute to make sure your Alertable emergency notifications app is up-to-date ahead of emergency season.

👉All you have to do is open the app, so it can refresh on your phone and it will automatically load any updates.

👉It can also be a good time to check your app settings and make sure you are getting notifications for the locations you want. You can use your specific address, or select by Electoral Area or Municipality.

👉If you don't have Alertable, now's the time to download it from the App Store or Google Play.
