A familiar favourite is returning to the Business Forum stage.

👨‍💼We’re excited to welcome Bryan Yu, Chief Economist at Central 1, back to Salmon Arm for this year’s 2026 Economic Update. Bryan has become a favourite with our local business community for his ability to make complex economic trends clear, relevant and connected to what businesses are experiencing here at home.

Bryan joined Central 1 in 2010 and now leads a team focused on macroeconomic and regional analysis for Central 1 and clients across the financial sector. He authors key economic and housing outlooks, provides frequent media commentary and regularly speaks at industry events.📈

Within Central 1, Bryan contributes to risk and treasury committees and leads Central 1’s IFRS9 National Platform business. Prior to Central 1, he held economist roles with the BC Real Estate Association, CMHC and in academic research.
Bryan holds an MA in Economics from Simon Fraser University and a BA from the University of Manitoba.

Schaun Goodeve is an award-winning economic developer and Registered Professional Planner with more than 25 years of domestic and international experience spanning the public and private sectors, non-profit organizations, post-secondary institutions and Indigenous communities. ✨

He is Principal of Goodeve & Associates, a boutique consulting firm specializing in investment attraction, disaster preparedness and resiliency, site selection, business retention and expansion, tourism, corporate strategy and market analysis.📊

Schaun also brings extensive firsthand experience in emergency preparedness, response and recovery. Both personally and professionally, he has experienced the impacts of natural disasters, including being evacuated from his home and having to close his business due to flooding.

An active volunteer, Schaun currently serves as a Director with the Economic Development Association of Canada and the Kimberley Nature Park Society, and as a member of the Planning Institute of British Columbia’s Membership Committee.
