CROP INSPECTIONS FOR CLUBROOT OF CANOLA UNDERWAY:
Lac Ste. Anne County performs an annual inspection of all canola fields throughout the region, per Policy 02-010-003 Control of Clubroot Disease. This is done to monitor the pathogen’s movement and reduce the spread throughout the County. To help producers make their own informed cropping decisions and reduce their risks, the County offers a map that shows where clubroot has been identified in canola. A copy of this map is available for viewing on our website.

Field staff take all necessary biosecurity precautions when entering a field for inspection, including wearing disposable gloves and boot covers, and sanitizing equipment between fields.

A NEW SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS TOMORROW: A safer school season starts with you!

The County reminds motorists to drive with extra caution, watch for pedestrians, and pay attention to school bus signals. Flashing AMBER lights means the bus is preparing to stop. Flashing RED means STOP as students are about to get on or off.

Enforcement officers are patrolling bus routes around the County. Steep fines and demerits await motorists who fail to heed school bus signals. Thanks for doing your part to help our school kids make it home safely.

The Darwell Truck Fill Station is Now Open!

Lac Ste. Anne County and the West Inter Lake District (WILD) Water Commission are pleased to announce that the new water truck fill station at the Darwell Fire Hall is now fully operational and serving the community.

The new facility improves access to municipal water for commercial water haulers, agricultural producers, and other authorized users, helping reduce travel times and improve service throughout the region.

⚠️ Safety Reminder: With increased water truck traffic in the area, motorists are encouraged to use extra caution, watch for large vehicles entering and exiting the site, and allow additional space for trucks to manoeuvre safely.

This project is another great example of Lac Ste. Anne County and WILD Water Commission working together to invest in infrastructure that supports local industry and benefits our community.

BEAVER MITIGATION SEASON UNDERWAY:
During the spring and summer months, the County’s beaver‑mitigation program is in full swing. Crews use a range of methods to manage beaver activity—such as dam removal and, when required, trapping—to address flooding in ditches and plugged culverts.

Residents are strongly encouraged to keep pets leashed at all times when walking along County roadways or in ditches. If you come across a beaver trap, do not touch or approach it. Traps can be dangerous, and it is unlawful to tamper with or remove them.
