Please be advised that the County has RESCINDED its Fire Advisory.

Effective immediately, the existing Fire Advisory Status will be downgraded to NO RESTRICTION in the County, and permit burning is allowed in accordance with bylaw and conditions imposed by County fire guardians. We will continue to monitor conditions and fire risk throughout the County and may update the fire safety status as warranted.

Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services sincerely thanks residents and visitors for their vigilance, patience, and compliance with the recent Fire Advisory.

Fire behaviour is moderate, with initial spread indexes generally lower, due to recent moisture received and cooler temperatures. Residents are reminded that risk is still up anytime warm winds and afternoon sunshine are present. Overall, precautionary measures while burning are strongly advised.

For further information, contact the Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services department at 1.866.880.5722 or 780.785.3411, or visit CountyFire.ca. Additional information may be found at albertafirebans.ca.

PROMPTING PREPAREDNESS: and Know Your Risks

Alberta's springtime weather can change quickly—it’s important to know the risks that are common in your area and take small steps to for them, such as:
• Wildfires: download the Alberta Wildfire app to stay up to date on the status and locations of wildfires.
• Tornadoes and extreme winds: practice sheltering in place with household members and pets so everyone knows what to do if an event were to occur.
• Floods: protect your home by using weather protection sealant around basement windows and the base of ground-level doors.

Preparedness isn’t about being ready for the next big disaster, it’s about adding small steps to your routine over time to build our resilience to disruptions, big or small. Learn other steps you can take to build resiliency to all hazards with Be Prepared resources and programming.
