May 4–10 is Children’s Mental Health Week

This week is a reminder that every child deserves to feel safe, supported, heard, and valued.

At Huron House, we see firsthand the importance of creating spaces where youth can build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and know they are never alone. Mental health matters every day, and together we can help break the stigma by encouraging open conversations, compassion, and support.

Take a moment this week to check in with the young people in your life. A listening ear, kind word, or simple act of support can make a lasting difference.

We are proud to celebrate the new mural at City Hall, a striking reminder of Sarnia’s ongoing efforts to implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).

This beautiful work reflects the deep and enduring relationship between Sarnia/Lambton and the Council of Three Fires Confederacy—the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations.

At Huron House, we have had the privilege of collaborating with the incredibly talented Seventh Rayn Design Co. in 2025 to create a mural for one of our program spaces. Her art continues to share heritage, culture, and stories that connect all of us to history, presence, and community.

We reaffirm our commitment to walking alongside Indigenous communities with humility and respect. We honour the leadership of Chiefs and Elders, and remain dedicated to advancing truth, reconciliation, and meaningful, lasting relationships grounded in respect and collaboration.
