✈️ INCIDENT UPDATE | Emergency Aircraft Landing – Lutheran Road

Yesterday evening, May 26, 2026, CPPS officers and RCMP responded to a report of a possible plane crash near Lutheran Road and Range Road 3072 — reported to us by NAV CANADA's Saskatoon Control Tower.

Upon arrival, officers determined the aircraft had not crashed. The pilot had experienced fuel exhaustion, resulting in a loss of engine power and an emergency forced landing on the roadway.

The good news: no injuries, and no damage to the aircraft, road, or surrounding infrastructure. The pilot made a safe landing under difficult circumstances.

The aircraft's owner attended the scene with fuel, the aircraft was refuelled, and it returned safely to its departure airport. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified.

Yesterday afternoon, members of the CPPS and Vanscoy Police Service spent time with Grade 3 students from South Corman Park Elementary School teaching bike safety. Officers checked bike size, helmet fit, and aired up tires in advance of this week’s bike trip. You’re never too young to learn about bike safety, and practising in the spring helps ensure a summer of safe riding.
