Big news for rural innovation in SK 🚀

Innovation Saskatchewan is investing nearly $150,000 in the Southeast Techhub (SETH) to expand tech opportunities in southeast Saskatchewan.

Through its RISE program, a first-of-its-kind regional startup incubator, SETH is helping early-stage companies launch and scale in their home communities.

This investment builds on that momentum by unlocking local potential, reducing barriers for rural entrepreneurs and supporting growth, jobs and innovation across the province.

SETH is also expanding access to technology training through post-secondary partnerships, helping build a stronger skilled workforce for the future.

Last week, alongside the University of Regina, we welcomed researchers, industry leaders, government partners and students to our R+T Park in Regina to celebrate Innovation Week in Saskatchewan!

With a showcase from U of R researchers and a fireside chat featuring Dr. Chris Yost (U of R) and Scott McGillivray (iQmetrix), the Innovation Week Mixer highlighted the great ideas growing in the province—and the innovators driving them forward.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to Minister Warren Kaeding and MLA Terri Bromm for celebrating Saskatchewan innovation with us!

What a way to wrap up a banner Innovation Week in Saskatchewan!

We were honoured to welcome Minister Warren Kaeding to announce a $250,000 commitment to Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Digital Integration Centre of Excellence (DICE).

From a live generative AI design demo to a guided tour of advanced digital research technologies, the event showcased how DICE helps businesses reduce risk, adopt new technologies and turn ideas into real-world solutions—while training the next generation of digital talent.

Thank you to Dr. Ian McWilliams, Dr. Terry Peckham, Dr. Shahrzad Golestani and the entire team for showing how DICE is accelerating commercialization, building future-ready skills and driving real economic impact for the province.

Thank you to Hon. Ken Cheveldayoff and Kari Harvey ICD.D for continuing to champion post-secondary research in Saskatchewan.

We’re wrapping up Innovation Week in Saskatchewan in a big way!

Innovation Saskatchewan is committing $250,000 over five years to renew support for Saskatchewan Polytechnic ’s Digital Integration Centre of Excellence (DICE) through the Innovation & Science Fund.

As Saskatchewan’s only federally designated Technology Access Centre, DICE helps businesses reduce risk and bring new technologies to market faster, while giving students and researchers hands-on experience with advanced digital tools.

From AI-powered grain grading to robotic mining automation, this investment, combined with federal support from NSERC, accelerates industry innovation, talent development and commercialization across key sectors.

What Went Down at UP! 🚀

Once again, Uniting the Prairies took over Saskatoon, bringing together founders, investors and industry leaders from across the Prairie tech ecosystem—and we were proud to be part of it.

As the Concierge of the Prairies, we connected experienced mentors with founders through targeted meetings and roundtable discussions, where they could ask tough questions, share challenges and learn from those who’ve been there before. This type of work is something we do every day by supporting the ecosystem with programs and our R+T Parks, so we were thrilled to bring our white glove services to the conference in a meaningful way!

Thank you to our CEO, Kari Harvey for kicking off the event with opening remarks and Minister Warren Kaeding for providing a special address at the VIP Dinner. And a big thank you to Co.Labs for hosting another impactful event!
