Today I got to attend the Saskatoon Berries home opener!

It was a nailbitting, back and forth game. The Berries took the lead 7-6 in the bottom of the 8th and stopped the Weyburn Beavers dead in their tracks in the 9th.

What a great home opener and we could not have asked for better weather!

It was a pleasure to bring greetings today at the Saskatoon Brain Tumour Walk, where more than 200 people came together to support those affected by brain tumours.

Many participants were walking in honour of a loved one and making for a truly meaningful event. Thank you to Nicole Farrell, CEO Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, Janet MacFarlane and Tammy O'Brien, of the organizing committee, and all of the volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the day a success!

Every day, 27 Canadians are diagnosed with a brain tumour, highlighting the importance of raising awareness, supporting families, and funding research.

The T-Shirts say it all! Strength, Courage, Resilience and Hope💙

Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and showed their support.

Honoured to attend the Terry Fox Humanitarian Awards in Ottawa and celebrate remarkable young Canadians who reflect the courage, determination, and compassion that Terry Fox inspired in all of us.

It was especially meaningful to recognize two outstanding recipients from Saskatchewan: Naomi Lendvay of Saskatoon and Hudson Walby of Buena Vista.

Naomi’s story is one of extraordinary resilience. Diagnosed at age six with stage four rhabdomyosarcoma and later given just 12 months to live, she endured years of treatment with unwavering strength. Today, cancer-free, she has turned her experience into a mission to help others through Team Naomi - Get Well Now raising more than $350,000 for pediatric cancer research and support for families facing similar battles. This fall, she will continue her studies at the University of Saskatchewan.

Hudson Walby was also recognized for his leadership and commitment to humanitarian service. Living with cerebral palsy, Hudson has faced a complex five-year medical journey with remarkable perseverance and determination.

The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award honours young Canadians who overcome adversity while making a positive impact in their communities. Saskatchewan is incredibly proud of Naomi and Hudson, whose stories remind us of the power of hope, resilience, and service to others.

Just under 9,000 Rider fans still riding high from last fall’s Grey Cup championship, headed out to Griffiths Stadium today to watch the Saskatchewan Roughriders host a preseason game in Saskatoon for the first time in 35 years since 1991, taking on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at the University of Saskatchewan.

What a beautiful day in Saskatoon for football!

Great to join Craig Reynolds, President and CEO Saskatchewan Roughriders, Grant Isaac, President and COO of Cameco and Dr. Vince Bruni-Bossio, President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Saskatchewan, as Rider Nation once again showed its incredible passion and support.

Now the Riders will break camp in Saskatoon and head back to Regina as preparations continue for another exciting CFL season.

Good luck this season, Riders!

Go Riders! 🏈💚

Today, on Vyshyvanka Day, we celebrate the rich traditions, resilience, and enduring spirit of the Ukrainian people and we proudly recognize Saskatoon’s vibrant Ukrainian Canadian community that has helped shape our city and province for generations.

From the beautiful embroidery and symbolism woven into every vyshyvanka, to the music, dance, language, faith, and family traditions passed down through generations, Ukrainian culture remains a proud part of Saskatchewan’s identity.

Saskatoon is home to one of the most active Ukrainian communities in Canada. Institutions like the the oldest Ukrainian museum in North America preserve and celebrate the stories, art, and heritage of Ukrainian Canadians.

Community events like the long-running Vesna Festival continue to bring people together each year through Ukrainian food, music, dance, and hospitality, showcasing traditions that have enriched Saskatoon for decades.

Today is also a reminder of the strength and courage of Ukrainians around the world, especially as Ukraine continues to defend its sovereignty and freedom.

To everyone celebrating today, Happy Vyshyvanka Day!

Слава Україні! 🇺🇦

Yesterday I went to Mount Royal Collegiate to honour Order of Canada recipient, Wayne Brownlee and his wife Ina-Lou Brownlee!

Their donation has immensely helped the Newcomer Youth Engagement Program, which helps young newcomers understand how various things work in Canada such as healthcare. We also got to hear the testimonies of those who have been able to use the program and how it has helped them!

My colleague Brad Redekopp and I explained the role of the federal government in the House of Commons as well as some of the issues that are going on right now.

Thank you to the Brownlees for everything you have done, it goes a long way!
