The Regiment has a team in MOUNTAIN RAM. If you’re in Edmonton during that time come and cheer them on.

On 4 June 2026, the Canadian Armed Forces will conduct Exercise MOUNTAIN RAM 2026 in the Edmonton River Valley. The exercise involves members of 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, alongside Regular and Reserve units from across Western Canada, in a physically demanding competition designed to build resilience and fitness as part of routine training. Participants will compete in a multi-discipline physical fitness event consisting of a 29 km rucksack march, a 3.2 km canoe portage, an 11.2 km canoe paddle, and a final 4.8 km rucksack run, conducted across various locations throughout the river valley. Exercise components may be adjusted based on environmental conditions and safety requirements.

Members of the public may observe Canadian Armed Forces personnel wearing physical training attire as they participate in the fitness competition, as well as personnel in operational dress supporting the exercise at various locations throughout the river valley. No weapons will be carried. No road or park closures are expected as a result of the exercise.

The following locations may experience temporary congestion:
• Rundle Park (North): Reduced parking availability due to military vehicles and an exercise command post.
• Dawson Park: Canoe staging and water entry may increase congestion in the area.
• Hermitage Park: Temporary checkpoint and canoe recovery area may result in reduced parking availability and localized congestion.
All other exercise activities, including water and replenishment points, will have minimal impact on the public. We thank the public for their understanding and cooperation.
---
