Things you might have said before you started Body Doubling at CMHA 💁

If you've said these exact words or a version of them while doing your absolute best to complete a task that seems so easy for others to do - you might want to check out Body Doubling at CMHA!

Written from the perspective of someone who lives with ADHD, these statements may seem lighthearted on the surface, but feel heavy to the person carrying this story.

We can promise you there's other people that feel the exact same way.

Body Doubling sessions are hosted at CMHA Saskatoon on Mondays from 1 - 2:30 pm. There's no-cost to attend, and no need to register ahead of time. We'll get you signed up when you arrive!

For more information on what Body Doubling is and how to join see our pinned post.

You signed up for the Run for Women, YAY!

And if you haven’t yet - we’ll just leave this registration link here: runforwomen.ca.

Thank you for giving your time, energy and resources to fund women’s mental health at CMHA Saskatoon.

We thought you should know what your efforts go towards. The run directly contributes to one program specifically: More than Mamas.

More than Mamas is a no-cost, discussion-based group that provides support and education on how to cope with the changes motherhood brings.

Did you know that fundraising through friends and family has one of the largest impacts on the amount raised by the Run for Women? Every dollar raised here, stays here.

We’ve put together a guide of easy and quick fundraisers to get you started!

Chalaine, More than Mamas facilitator and Sydney, owner of BabyBean Play Cafe talk candidly about the struggles that moms face in every stage of their postpartum journey.

More than Mamas provides community support that isn't clinical, in a space where moms can connect with each other.

Chalaine, More than Mamas facilitator and Sydney, owner of BabyBean Play Cafe sit down to talk about why the partnership between More than Mamas and Baby Bean makes sense.

Being able to collaborate with community partners plays a large part in the success of non-profit programs. Providing moms with what they need in a space that is catered to them is a vital part of More than Mamas and continuing to break down barriers mothers face in accessing support.

Check out part 3 for a candid conversation on postpartum and mental health.

We're taking you behind the scenes of the Run for Women and showing you one of the programs the run supports: More than Mamas.

More than Mamas facilitator, Chalaine, began researching supportive and educational programs for moms after becoming a mom herself and identifying a gap in services that puts moms at the centre of care, while creating an accessible space that supports both mom and child.

Sydney, the owner of BabyBean Play Cafe, partnered with CMHA Saskatoon to provide the space for the program. A space where moms can have a hot cup of coffee, a bite to eat, and feel less alone in motherhood.

Watch out for part 2 of this series!

For this year’s Run for Women, we wanted to move beyond surface-level conversations about mental health.

We're continuing to share reflections from women in our community on the realities, contradictions, challenges and perspectives that don't always make it into the conversation of women's mental health.

We're so excited to have had the chanec to sit down with Lynne Wawryk-Epp: retired psychologist, lifelong runner, and breaking records as she goes!

In this clip, Lynne reflects on the roles women carry and the impact that can have on mental health.
