In a meeting today, the Provincial Métis Council (PMC) passed a resolution to strengthen support for Île-à-la-Crosse Residential School survivors. This recognizes the complexity of the claims process and the lasting impacts experienced by those affected by residential schools. MN–S is dedicating staff and resources to provide one-on-one support through four coordinators, with two based in the NR2 Regional Office and two in the NR3 Regional Office, along with travel to surrounding communities to guide applicants through the claims process. This approach is focused on reducing barriers and ensuring survivors have clear, compassionate support every step of the way.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our Traditional Land Use (TLU) Engagement at Wanuskewin on May 30. Your stories, knowledge, experiences, and connections to the land made this gathering meaningful and successful.

We are grateful to our Elders, Knowledge Keepers, panelists, volunteers, and all community members who took the time to participate and share their voices. Your contributions will help strengthen our understanding of the cultural and historical significance of the Meewasin Trail area.

June: A Month of Reflection, Celebration & Solidarity ♾️💙🌈

June marks both National Indigenous History Month and Pride Month, a time to honour the histories, cultures, contributions, and resilience of Métis, First Nations, and Inuit Peoples, while also celebrating the strength, diversity, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

As Métis people, we understand the importance of identity, belonging, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected.

Throughout June, we reflect on our shared histories, celebrate our diversity, and stand in solidarity with all those working toward a future rooted in respect, inclusion, and understanding.♾️💙🌈

What an incredible day at our WR2A Meewasin Traditional Land Use (TLU) Study Engagement at Wanuskewin.

A huge thank you to our presenters, panelists, knowledge holders, Elders, dancers, Métis Nation—Saskatchewan staff, and all the citizens and families who came out to participate. Your stories, experiences, and knowledge are what make this work so meaningful and important.

It was inspiring to see so many people come together to learn, share, connect, and help preserve our history and way of life for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a success. This is only the beginning.. stay tuned for more engagements to come!
