This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, diversity, and resilience of 2SLGBTQI+ communities. 🌈

We are committed to creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces, whether someone is accessing housing supports, social services, or emergency medical care. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, especially during times of vulnerability or crisis. ❤️‍🩹

We recognize that 2SLGBTQI+ individuals may face unique barriers when accessing services and supports. That’s why inclusion, understanding, and affirming care are essential to building healthier, stronger communities.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize and honour the histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

At DSSAB, we acknowledge that understanding Indigenous history is essential to building respectful relationships, improving access to services, and supporting community well-being.

This includes recognizing the lasting impacts of colonization, residential schools, and systemic barriers that continue to affect Indigenous peoples today.

National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect, and to continue working toward reconciliation through awareness, respect, and action. 🧡

The Hub at 90 Chapple Ave. has now resumed normal operations.

Services previously operating from 53 Chapple Ave. have transitioned back to the Hub.

We want to sincerely thank our tenants, staff, and partners for their patience and support as we completed this important investment in community services. 💚🏡

DSSAB was pleased to join fellow Northern Ontario Service Deliverers Association (NOSDA) members in Parry Sound last week for discussions with Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Rob Flack, and Associate Minister Graydon Smith regarding collaborative approaches to affordable housing development across Northern Ontario.

Partnership and regional collaboration continue to be critical as northern communities work to expand affordable housing opportunities, strengthen local capacity, and address shared housing challenges.

Access to food support shouldn’t depend on where you live. 💙

We’re proud to see community partners coming together to improve access to essential supports in the Goulais River area through the new Goulais River Access Link initiative led by St. Vincent Place and Goulais Fire & Rescue Volunteers.

This partnership helps reduce transportation and access barriers for individuals and families needing food support, with intake and delivery options available directly through the Goulais River Fire Hall.

Thank you to everyone involved for helping strengthen community connections and support people where they are. 👏

Learn more by clicking below! 👇

Reminder to those in the north: the Goulais River Access Link is open tonight! Visit the Goulais Fire Hall between 6:30 and 8:00pm tonight to request your package, and have it delivered tomorrow by the Goulais Fire & Rescue Volunteers.
