Our treasurer is fundraising for Movember in honour of his late uncle and grandfather. Any support is greatly appreciated!

Alec's Motivation: Movember is a movement that has had a special place in my heart since it's inception. Last year was the first year I participated in actively fundraising for the cause. Hey Everyone!

The Law and Politics Student Society is looking to have a group of students attend the NAMUN (North American Model United Nations) Conference at the University of Toronto! The event will be from February 24th - 26th, 2022! Deadline to apply is October 29, 2021 by 8pm.

What is NAMUN?

Founded in 1985, the North American Model United Nations (NAMUN) is an annual Model United Nations simulation hosted at the University of Toronto in Canada. It is Canada's oldest university-level Model United Nations Conference, and attracts delegates from around the world to Toronto every February. NAMUN is dedicated to teaching youth about the United Nations and the international system.

NAMUN is an incredible and educational experience for all students. This opportunity allows you to collaborate with other students as well as problem solve within different sized groups while cultivating your public speaking skills!

The LPSS Executive is seeking students who are interested in participating in the NAMUN event, and are asking that any students who are interested, to please fill out and submit the attached google form! We hope to see a lot of interest in this opportunity!

Exciting News! The Law and Politics Student Society will be hosting a Federal Election Candidates Debate this Thursday, September 16th from 2:30-4:30 in the Speakeasy!

This is a great opportunity for students to hear from the candidates first hand, while they share their ideas and opinions on certain topics in order to inform students so they can make an informed decision. The last 30 minutes of the event will be a Q&A session where you will be able to ask any questions you may have to any of the candidates.

The event will have a capacity of 40 people so it will be on a first come first serve basis, but for those who cannot attend in person whether it be for reasons of capacity or otherwise, there will also be a Zoom link where we stream the debate so students can still attend and ask questions to the candidates through the chat option.

Hope to see everyone there!
