This International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the people we’ve lost to overdose and the people who continue to carry that loss with them.

Because behind every overdose statistic is a person. A friend. A neighbour. A loved one. Someone’s someone.

Knowing how to recognize an overdose and what to do next can save a life. Swipe through to learn the signs.

If you think someone is experiencing an opioid overdose, call 911 and give naloxone if you have it.

This August 31, learn the signs. Share what you know. And remember the people behind the numbers.

If you’re in crisis, call or text 9-8-8 for free, confidential support, 24/7.
