🇨🇦 One Last Roar for the Snowbirds' Iconic Tutor Jets!

On July 24, 2019, the skies above Flagstaff County came alive as the Canadian Forces Snowbirds delivered an unforgettable performance at Flagstaff Regional Airport.

The roar of nine jets. The precision of their formations. The sight of those red-and-white aircraft sweeping across a prairie sky.

Seven years later, a remarkable chapter in Canadian aviation history comes to a close.

✈️ Tomorrow (Friday, October 16), the Snowbirds will take to the skies over Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, for their final full performance in the CT-114 Tutor, the only aircraft type the team has flown in its remarkable 55-year history.

The setting will be different. The sky just as vast. And for those of us in Flagstaff County, the memories of that summer day in 2019 will make this farewell all the more meaningful.

To ensure your payment is received by the deadline, please use one of the following methods:

✅ E-Transfer – Send to [email protected].
✅ Debit Payment at the County Office – Visit us between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. (we’re open through lunch).
✅ Option Pay – Pay by credit card online (fees apply): https://payment.optionpay.ca/flagstaff-county/index.php. Please include your account number in the comment section so we can process your payment correctly.
✅ Online Banking – Available through Vision Credit Union Ltd., ATB Financial, and BMO Financial Group. Tip: Banks require a six-digit account number. Add zeros to the beginning if needed.

⚠️ A 12% penalty will be applied to all outstanding taxes tomorrow (October 16).

Passing the farm to the next generation involves more than paperwork. It takes planning, communication and sometimes a few difficult conversations.

With less than three weeks to go, now is the time to register for our Farm Succession Planning Workshop!

Flagstaff County and the Heisler Ag Society invite farm families to join Reg Shandro of Farmacist Advisory Services for a day of expert guidance on navigating family dynamics, making important decisions and developing a plan for the future.

All vehicles and equipment are available to view at the County Shop in Sedgewick and will be sold on an “as is” basis.

📍 Sealed bids must be submitted to the Flagstaff County Administration Office, 12435 Twp Rd 442, Sedgewick.

🚧 Road Closure Notice: Range Road 165

Please be advised that Range Road 165, between Township Road 440 and Township Road 434 (south of Daysland), will be closed beginning Wednesday, October 14 (tomorrow), for a culvert replacement.

🚜 Motorists are asked to plan alternate routes, watch for road closure signage and exercise caution when travelling in the area.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our crews complete this necessary infrastructure work.

🌱 Fall Hydroseeding Underway in Flagstaff County!

Our Agricultural Services crew kicked off fall hydroseeding last week and is continuing work along County roadways this week.

Hydroseeding is an efficient, cost-effective way to establish grass in roadside areas, helping restore vegetation and prevent soil erosion when weather conditions allow.

🚜 If you encounter crews and equipment along the road, please slow down, use caution and give them plenty of room to work safely.
