🖍️ Small artists, big creativity!

We’re excited to share photos of our National Public Works Week colouring contest draw winners with their prizes:

🎨 Dylan Badry
🎨 Kodi Dmetruik
🎨 Ella Buchholz

Hosted by Flagstaff County’s Municipal Services department, the colouring contest was a fun way for kids to help celebrate the public works professionals who keep our communities safe, connected and moving.

Thank you to all the kids who participated and to the families who helped submit their artwork. We loved seeing the creativity, colour and effort that went into every entry.

Thank you for helping us mark National Public Works Week last week in such a bright and creative way! 🛠️

💪 New to this year’s Flagstaff Fitness Challenge ambassador team, Kristi Pollard brings a passion for helping women build strength, confidence and sustainable habits through every stage of life.

Kristi is a certified personal trainer and nutritionist with HER Fitness by Kristi, offering women-focused 1:1 training through Central Fitness Ltd in Sedgewick.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I grew up in Hardisty, spent 8 years in oil and gas, and thought that was my path, until I got pregnant and everything shifted. I realized I wanted more. I wanted purpose.

My postpartum journey opened my eyes to just how little support and education exists for women’s bodies after birth. Nobody was talking about it the way it needed to be talked about. So I decided I would.

I became a certified personal trainer and nutritionist, and I haven’t stopped learning since, because women deserve someone in their corner who actually understands what their body is going through at every single phase of life.

When I’m not coaching, you’ll find me in the gym, checking in with clients, or wrangling my family with a coffee glued to my hand.

I am so excited for the opportunity to be an ambassador for the Flagstaff Fitness Challenge and to be a part of everyone’s journey ✨

🌿 Alberta’s W**d Control Regulation list has been updated for the first time since 2010.

These updates help focus provincial resources where they can have the greatest impact, on invasive plants that are still possible to contain or eradicate.

Key changes include:

• 2 species deregulated
• 5 species added as noxious
• 17 species added as prohibited noxious
• 12 species reclassified from prohibited noxious to noxious
• 95 species are now provincially regulated

Landowners are required to control noxious w**ds and destroy prohibited noxious w**ds.
