Next Thursday, June 18, 2026, is the last afterschool LEGO Blockbusters Club of the season.

Our afterschool LEGO club takes place at 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays and is a drop-in program with no registration needed.

All ages are welcome!

If you have a building enthusiast at home, keep an eye open for our summer LEGO program starting in July!

This Saturday, June 6th, 2026, the library will be closed all day in celebration of Chautauqua Day.

But fear not dear readers!
You will be able to find us on Main Street at Westland Insurance, for our annual Chautauqua Day Book Sale. Books will be for sale by donation. You will also find a selection of yummy treats.

From 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. you can snag a snack or a sweet treat, browse our for sale collection, and find a new book friend (or ten) to bring home. TBR pile be darned!

All funds are raised through The Friends of the Shannon Library Society and directly benefit the Shannon Library.

Next Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 3:30-4:30 p.m., teens age 12-17 are invited to put their taste buds to the test in an ultimate blindfold taste test challenge.

Try a sample of a popular snack-food brand and see if your palate can guess the flavour!

The participant who guesses the most flavours correctly, gets to take home a delicious prize surprise.

This challenge's feature snack: Oreos
