Dufferin Arts Council (DAC) The Dufferin Arts Council (DAC) was founded in 1992 as a volunteer, not-for-profit community organization.

The goal is to support and promote the arts and provide members with cultural experiences and social activities. Members enjoy a monthly luncheon followed by a talk or performance by someone involved in some aspect of the arts. What a fantastic evening at Corbetton Church! 🎭 Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for Setting the Stage: An After 5 Arts Salon with Beckie Morris, co-presented by Dufferin Arts Council and Museum of Dufferin.

Beckie was wonderful, giving us a captivating look at the how of set design - where she finds inspiration, how ideas become sets, and the mechanics and craftsmanship behind creating the worlds we see on stage. Truly a WOW experience!

A special thank you to Maple Grove, Zehrs Orangeville, and Sobeys Orangeville for sponsoring the evening and supporting the arts in our community. 🌟

🎭 What really happens behind the curtain?

Join us for an After 5 Arts Salon with Beckie Morris, award-winning set designer at Theatre Orangeville, and discover how an empty stage becomes an entirely different world.

For more than 20 years, Beckie has been creating the sets that transport audiences from spooky English manors and Canadian curling clubs to mines and icebergs.

But theatrical magic isn't just about imagination. It’s also about budgets, tight spaces, props, lighting, problem-solving, and plenty of creative thinking.

Come behind the scenes as Beckie shares stories and insights into the creative process, and the practical magic that brings a production to life!

Enjoy w**e or b**r and appetizers, connect with fellow arts lovers, and see Theatre Orangeville from a whole new perspective.
