Family Friendly & Free

Dress up and bring the family for a festive walk through the park, collect candy along the trail, and enjoy some Halloween fun!

🚫 No parking in front of the main lodge/gates.
⚠️ Use caution on the road when arriving and leaving.
🐾 Pets welcome (must be leashed and cleaned up after)

Adult Learn to Skate (Beginner)
Program is for adults (ages 18+) who are looking to learn to skate. Program is led by a qualified instructor, Angela Dexter.

Please note this is intended for people new to skating. We will be offering an additional program in the winter for individuals who are 'beyond the basics'.

Program focuses hockey basics. Each session consists of fun skill based activities and a pick-up style game. Program is for kids who are not registered in minor hockey. Full hockey gear is required.

Provincial Volunteer Awards Ceremony

Yesterday, Warden Penny Smith had the honour of attending the Provincial Volunteer Awards Ceremony in Halifax, where Frances “Fran” Scott was recognized for her incredible lifelong commitment to volunteering and giving back to our community.

Fran’s volunteer journey began as a youth, and over the years she has contributed countless hours to sports, recreation, education, arts and community organizations throughout Shelburne County and beyond. From coaching baseball and softball and serving as a basketball coach for more than 50 years, to helping establish Shelburne County Special Olympics in 1983, Fran has made a lasting impact on generations of youth.

Her contributions extend far beyond the basketball court and field. Fran has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Shelburne County Learning Network, Harmony Bazaar, the Lockeport Sea Derby, the Nova Scotia Marathon and many other community initiatives.

Congratulations, Fran, on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for more than five decades of giving back to our community!!

Registration for CanSkate with the Shelburne County Skating Club for the 2026-2027 season is next week Thursday September 17th 6:00-7:30pm at the Shelburne Firehall. See post for full details

We're excited to announce our CanSkate registration information for the 2026-2027 season!

Looking forward to getting back on the ice with everyone!

Sessions will be the same as previous years with Barrington on Mondays and Shelburne on Thursdays.
