Thank you for helping to keep our communities safe! ππ¨βππ
π₯ Check before you burn! What does this mean for you?
Before lighting a campfire, brush pile, burn barrel, chiminea or wood-burning fire bowl, check the Nova Scotia BurnSafe map after 2:00 pm daily during wildfire risk season.
Use the colour guide:
π΄ Red: Burning is not allowed
π‘ Yellow: Burning is only allowed 7:00 pm β 8:00 am
π’ Green: Burning is allowed 2:00 pm β 8:00 am
When conditions become very dangerous, a fire ban may be proclaimed for one or more counties, or across the province. When a fire ban is in place, the map stays red, meaning open fires are not allowed anywhere provincial burn restrictions apply. Consumer fireworks are also not allowed during a fire ban.
