Thank you to all of our supporters, Rafflebox and the Nova Scotia Firefighters 50-50. With the proceeds from this raffle we recently purchased 2 operator headsets. These will allow for clearer communications on emergency scenes.

πŸ”₯ Check before you burn! What does this mean for you?

Before lighting a campfire, brush pile, burn barrel, chiminea or wood-burning fire bowl, check the Nova Scotia BurnSafe map after 2:00 pm daily during wildfire risk season.

Use the colour guide:
πŸ”΄ Red: Burning is not allowed
🟑 Yellow: Burning is only allowed 7:00 pm – 8:00 am
🟒 Green: Burning is allowed 2:00 pm – 8:00 am

When conditions become very dangerous, a fire ban may be proclaimed for one or more counties, or across the province. When a fire ban is in place, the map stays red, meaning open fires are not allowed anywhere provincial burn restrictions apply. Consumer fireworks are also not allowed during a fire ban.

πŸ“ Visit novascotia.ca/burnsafe or scan the QR code in the infographic.
πŸ“ž To report a wildfire or burn restriction violation, call 1-800-565-2224 or 911.
πŸ›οΈ Please also follow all applicable municipal bylaws and policies.

Let’s keep our homes, forests, neighbours and shorelines safe this summer. 🌲🌊

Big shout out to our neighboring fire departments for the assistance during our structure fire yesterday. Thank you Harbour Fire Department , CGC Firehall and Shelburne FireDept. Your help was truly appreciated. Also, thank you Tyler Harris for your excavator services.
