On May 13, 2026 at 16:00, Shellbrook Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a report of smoke north of Deer Ridge. Two firefighters/one unit responded. No fire or smoke was found. Incident #32

Vegetation FireπŸ”₯ πŸš’πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’

On May 13, 2026 at 12:41, Shellbrook Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a vegetation fire east of Shellbrook.

The intense wind sparked up a previous controlled burn which quickly spread through a yard site and across a road into a field. The fire burned trees, a trailer with two sleds, and numerous feed and straw bales. The fire also damaged a house.

Five Firefighters/three units and many helpful community members responded.

SFR would like to thank everybody who showed up to help by hauling water and fighting the fires with us. We also greatly appreciate those who made calls and let them know their help was needed. Thanks to those who brought equipment to deal with the fire in the field. Also thanks to those who brought drinking water and pizza. It was a long day! Incident #32

Two Vehicle CollisionπŸš™πŸš—πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’

On May 12, 2026 at 09:55, Shellbrook Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 3 and 55. Upon arrival, cruise discovered a southbound SUV had struck a westbound, semi pulling gravel trailers.

EMS and RCMP were also on scene. Two people were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. Firefighters assisted with traffic control and cleaning up debris before returning to the hall. οΏΌFive firefighters/two units responded. Incident #31

On May 8, 2026 at 13:41, Shellbrook Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a vehicle collision on Main Street in Shellbrook. The driver lost control and ran into the side of Bigway grocery store. οΏΌEMS was also on scene, however the driver appeared to have no injuries.

On May 5, 2026 at 16:51, Shellbrook Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire west of Shellbrook. EMS and RCMP were also dispatched.

Upon arrival crews observed a house that was partially involved. Dispatch advised that there were no occupants in the house.

Crews worked for approximately 3 hours on this fire to extinguish it. The FLIR camera(forward looking infrared)was then used to determine if there were any hot spots remaining.

Thank you to all of the neighbors/community members who assisted by bringing water tanks. Approximately 10,000- 12,000 gallons of water was used.

Vehicle vs Deer 🦌 πŸš—πŸš’

On May 3, 2026 at 19:07, Shellbrook Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a vehicle collision with a deer east of Shellbrook.

The lone occupant was not injured. Crews assisted in pulling the fender away from the wheel so that the individual could continue on his way.

On April 29, 2026 at 04:26, Shellbrook Fire and Rescue was dispatched to an abandoned building on fire. Crews ensured that there was no danger of anything else igniting and allowed the structure to burn. RCMP were also on scene and arrested the person who was responsible for lighting this fire.

On April 26, 2026 at 09:53, Shellbrook Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover east of Shellbrook. The driver lost control and rolled. Road conditions poor at the time. RCMP and EMS also on scene. Driver taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
