News from Niña! 🦭✨

Temporarily relocated to the Aquarium du Québec, “News from Niña” is the perfect opportunity to learn more about her daily life, experiences and discoveries during her time away from 𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗻𝗯.

The latest news! ✨

During her biomedical training sessions, Niña has begun her first practices for kidney and reproductive system ultrasounds!
What she needs to learn with the help of positive reinforcement:
👩‍⚕️ Be comfortable with people who are not part of her everyday routine.
Ex.: a veterinarian, veterinary technician or a different trainer.
🩺 Be comfortable with handling and having objects placed in contact with her.
Ex.: For this training, this involves a hand and the ultrasound probe.
⏱️ Maintain the requested position for an undetermined period of time.

While lying on her stomach, she is already showing great potential for obtaining clear images of her kidneys. As for her reproductive system, the lying-on-her-back position still requires a little more practice. However, she is showing an excellent ability to learn and great potential to progress quickly.

In the photo, you can see her with one of her trainers, Kléo, accompanied by the Aquarium du Québec’s veterinarian, Dr. Paranteau.
