NS Mi'kmaw Summer Games 2026 is calling your name!

Ready to represent your community? Registration for the 2026 Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw Summer Games is officially open!

Whether you’re competing in your favourite sport or cheering from the sidelines, don't miss your chance to be part of the action from August 13th to August 23rd.

Thunderchild First Nation Powwow! 🦅

Sipekne'katik Family Well Being is taking 20 youth (ages 12–17) on an incredible cultural journey to experience Cree traditions, connect with community, and explore the beauty of Turtle Island!

🗓️ Trip Dates: July 23–28, 2026
👥 Eligibility: Youth ages 12–17

Registration for this trip is by essay submission only. Youth must write up to a 250-word essay that includes:
✏️Why do you want to go?
✏️How will you represent your community and the group in a respectful and positive way?

Submission Details:
📍 Must be handed in, in-person, to the Sipekne'katik Band Office.
📝 Label: ATTN: FWB Office
⏰ Deadline: Thursday, June 11th, 2026 at 4:00 PM
🗓️ Selection Date: Selection of essays will take place on June 12th, 2026.

Community Notice: WATER SERVICE DISRUPTION

Please be advised that the Operations & Maintenance team will be carrying out required water line repairs on Brown Flats Road tomorrow, Thursday, June 4, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM, resulting in a temporary water service disruption affecting only Brown Flats residents.

Residents are advised to store sufficient water and fill tubs prior to 9:00 AM for household use during this time.

We ask drivers to reduce speeds when approaching the work site, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Mandatory Life Skills Workshops are scheduled for June to secure funding through the Stay in School Graduation Initiative.

Please ensure you attend the weekend sessions to finalize your funding requirements.
