Have you heard about the great work Radio Sidney - Peninsula Affairs - Peter Wainwright is doing? They have created a 10-part documentary called "Beware Mysterious Mark" based on a true story about elder financial abuse.

An elderly man welcomed someone into his life. Gradually, trust from his family was eroded, followed by the takeover of his home and finances. This documentary delves into the mechanisms behind this manipulation and the reasons it succeeds, featuring interviews with experts to help you prevent a similar fate.

Escargot pate anyone?
For this week we are featuring two library staff cookbooks that came out in 1991 and 1998. Staff got a kick out of some of the, well, more interesting recipes. Anyone interested in making some oyster fritters or maybe a recipe for a Cajun spiced turkey loaf you can cook in the microwave? For your sweet tooth maybe try a eggless raisin cake, a rhubarb custard cake or a sensational smoked salmon cheesecake. If you're interested in any of these recipes send us a message. The deal is that you have to bring some in for us to sample.

One of our staff just finished a 1000 page book and is feeling quite proud🤓. This started a discussion on the joys, trials and pitfalls of reading huge books. What are some of the biggest books you have ever read? What big books would you recommend? Have you ever been disappointed that more people weren't profoundly impressed by your reading accomplishments🤪? What page length qualifies as a "big book"? Let us know in the comments.
