NOTICE: As of October 26 Authorization Forms are going paperless! You will now just need to log into your Alberta Digital account and give authorization to someone to do a service on your behalf!

Starting Oct. 26, we’re going paperless!

When Albertans need to use the Vehicle Services form to register a vehicle, the form can be filled out online instead of using paper forms. Albertans who need someone else to complete a vehicle service on their behalf will use a secure online form through their verified Alberta.ca account. This often happens when Albertans buy a vehicle from a dealership, for example.

The service is not going away - the process is changing to help make it more secure and reduce potential for fraud.

Important Notice:
Changes to driver's licenses are coming soon on July 2nd!

You will get a card with the citizenship marker and Alberta Health if you are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
You will not have to come in, this will only affect first time driver licenses and renewals. You will need to bring your legal entitlement (Birth Certificate, Valid Canadian Passport, Permanent Resident Card, or Secure Status Card) & your Alberta Health Care card.

In preparation for these new cards we WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROCESS DRIVER'S LICENSE OR IDENTIFICATION CARD SERVICES STARTING JUNE 28 TILL JULY 1ST.

We will also close early on June 30 because we cannot process ANY services from 3 p.m. until we reopen after the holiday, July 2nd.

This closure is unfortunately province-wide. If you need to renew your license or complete registration, you should visit any Alberta registries office before this happens.

Our office is set to open on the week of June 8th. There has been a slight delay in opening due to government systems not being completely functional. We look forward to serving you in the near future.

Notice:
Due to Ownership change, Registries will remain closed at this time.
Tentative reopen date is scheduled for June 1st.
In the meantime, please visit eservices.alberta.ca and click Barrhead Registries for any online services including: Driver License Renewals, Vehicle Renewals, Driver Abstracts, Birth Certificates and Fine payments.
Closest in-person services can be done at High Prairie Registry or Swan Hills Registry.
Our apologies for the short notice and inconvenience.
