NOTICE OF WATER LEAK REPAIR -
FLETCHER AVENUE

Repairs Complete

Repairs to the water main are now complete.

Following repairs, residents in the area are advised to flush their home water lines for several minutes to evacuate trapped air and wash out any sedimentation which may have been disturbed by the repair.

Ideally, flushing should be done with the cold water tub faucet; however, simultaneously running several other cold water faucets is also effective. Residents should consider removing faucet screens prior to flushing. Rust and mineral scale from within the home, which often collects in the water heater, may be dislodged and can clog faucet screens.

A water main leak was discovered this morning on Fletcher Avenue, between Nelson Street and Hume Street.

Residents in the area may experience intermittent water service today as public works complete the repair.

BEAR ACTIVITY

Bears have been visibly present around town, and are currently active around the Wellness Center grounds this morning - Tuesday, October 6th. Please use caution approaching the area to access the building.

If you see a bear, do not approach. Give it plenty of room and try to avoid startling it with sudden movements.

Please be advised that the Harold/Ward intersection will be temporarily closed while crews install storm drains and complete water main tie-ins, effective Monday, October 5th.

In consultation with West Kootenay Transit, the Harold/Ward bus stop has been temporarily relocated to the Cenotaph (Harold/Park).

NOTICE OF WATERLINE REPAIR

Public Works are in the process of repairing a small water leak at the south end of Hume Street at Arlington Road. Work is being conducted today, and will be completed early next week.

Following repairs, residents in the area are advised to flush their home water lines for several minutes to evacuate trapped air and wash out any sedimentation which may have been disturbed by the repair.

Water users in the following areas may experience sedimentation or air in the lines:

- Properties on Hume Street between Giffin Avenue and Arlington Road;
- 1018, 1104, and 1110 Harold Street; and
- 704 Arlington Road
