The Kispiox Valley Rodeo honours its deep roots in the Upper Skeena through a powerful collaboration with world-renowned artist Roy Henry Vickers, whose vibrant artwork captures the spirit of the northern landscape and its traditions. For a special promotional poster, Vickers immortalized the legendary bucking horse Simon, a powerhouse stallion from GJ Rodeo horses born and raised in the Kispiox Valley. The artwork was masterfully timed to coincide with the Year of the Fire Horse, a theme that perfectly mirrors Simon's reputation and the raw energy of the "Biggest Little Rodeo in the West". By blending traditional Northwest Coast design with the dynamic motion of a rodeo icon, Vickers created a piece that celebrates the unbreakable connection between the land, the livestock, and the resilient people of the Kispiox Valley.
