Sincere condolences on behalf of our service to his family and colleagues.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous confirmons le décès tragique de l’agent Mohamed Lamine Benredouane dans l’exercice de ses fonctions en protégeant la population. Le drame est survenu aujourd’hui lors d’une intervention policière dans le secteur de Côte-des-Neiges. L’agent Benredouane, 34 ans, était policier au SPVM depuis 2021.

Son décès est une grande perte pour notre organisation. Son sens du devoir, son dévouement et son professionnalisme resteront pour toujours dans nos mémoires.

En signe de respect pour manifester notre tristesse collective et rendre hommage à notre collègue, nos drapeaux sont en berne.

Tombé, mais jamais oublié.

We were proud to participate once again in this year’s LETR Torch Run for Special Olympics. It was wonderful to see such a great turnout from Special Olympians and their families, law enforcement members and their families, and our supportive community.

Thank you to everyone who came out and took part. Your support truly makes a difference.

A special thank you to Charlie from AC Towing and Jamie from The Trailer Company for their contributions.

Between the 3 events, Toll, Golf Tournament and Torch run over $24000 was raised to support Special Olympics athletes and their chosen sports.

Starting this week, every week the Chief will highlight the behind-the-scenes moments to recognize staff encounters with members of our community. We’re always thankful to receive praise for the good work our staff does in keeping our community safe. Names and information are left blank to not identify these individuals.

This week she is highlighting a domestic situation that became toxic. Officers responded on several occasions due to verbal arguments and provided advice and support to this individual. It is not easy for many people, especially with children, to leave a relationship. Here is their story with permission.

We’re about to start the annual Special Olympics Torch Run!! Starting from the rink down to Beckwith - Brockville - mall! It will be loud!

🚧 Temporary Road Closures: June 13, 2026
The Smiths Falls Law Enforcement Torch Run is taking place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The run will leave the Smiths Falls Community Centre on Cornelia Street West and travel down Elmsley Street North to Beckwith Street and down Brockville Street to the Settler's Ridge Mall. Streets will be temporarily closed in a rolling format with the Smiths Falls Police Service managing closures as the run progresses through Town.

Road Closures

Please avoid the area of Williams St E between Victoria Ave and Chambers St due to downed power lines.

Public works has closed the street while Hydro completes repairs. Police and Fire are not longer on scene.

Once again, we have to share the sad news of another line of duty death Constable Marc Pinizzotto who was an 18-year member of the Toronto Police Services Emergency Task Force. Our sincere condolences to his colleagues, family and friends on this terrible loss.

Our deepest condolences to our Ontario Provincial Police colleagues in the loss of one of their members today- killed in the line of duty. Constable Bali had only been an officer since 2023.
Our flags will be lowered to honour him.

It is with deep sorrow that I confirm that OPP Provincial Constable Tarun Bali was killed in the line of duty this afternoon in Hearst. His courage and commitment to serving others will never be forgotten. As we grieve this immeasurable loss, I extend our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones, colleagues and the policing community.
