This past weekend, members of the Smiths Falls Police Service attended the 4th Annual Female First Responder Camp hosted by the Perth Fire Service.

The camp gives young women aged 15-21 the opportunity to participate in interactive, hands-on learning experiences while exploring careers in emergency services. Participants met with female first responders from Fire, Paramedic Services, Police, and Conservation to learn about their professions and ask questions.

It was a great day of learning, mentorship, and inspiration!

Every year staff have the option to do the Police Fitness PIN test. The test includes push ups, flexibility, core strength and a shuttle run. Today was a beautiful day for this group to complete it for 2026. Maintaining fitness at every stage of a policing career is important not just for physical but for mental health and wellness too. Besides the PIN test staff often do extra training, fishing, going for walks, play hockey, working out in the gym to stay active and healthy and focus on what really matters to their families- their health and well-being.

The Smiths Falls Police Service was delighted to recently receive these amazing crocheted bunny keychains from Donna and Micheal! 🐰💙

Recently, SFPS put out a request for assistance to help replenish our comfort items, which are often provided to children and adults experiencing a crisis and are in need of support, reassurance, and compassion.

Thoughtful items like these adorable keychains can make a meaningful difference, helping our officers build trust and rapport while navigating complex and traumatic situations.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Donna and Micheal for recognizing the important work our officers do in the community every day and for their generosity and willingness to go above and beyond to help us support those in need. Your kindness truly makes a difference in our community! 💙

Our thoughts are with all Canadian Military members as they deal with this terrible incident.

It is with profound sadness that we confirm that a fire incident at CFB Wainwright on October 17 resulted in fatalities and injuries. Our immediate priority is supporting those affected and notifying next of kin.

We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

We hope you have the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends while celebrating the season.

We also want to take a moment to recognize and thank those who will be working throughout the holiday and unable to join in the festivities. Your dedication and service to our community are greatly appreciated.

If your Thanksgiving plans include alcohol, please make responsible choices. Arrange for a designated driver, call a taxi, use a rideshare service, or find another safe way home. Never drink and drive.

Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving weekend.
