Applications are open for the 2026/2027 SC’IȺNEW Health and Recreation Grant 🎉

This grant is available for SC’IȺNEW registered members under the age of 18 who are seeking support for health and recreation activities 🏃‍♀️🎨

Once the application is completed, approved applicants can receive up to $1000.00 in reimbursements 💰 between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027.

Meet some of the iconic trees found in SC’IȺNEW̱ territory, and learn how to say their SENĆOŦEN names! 🗣️

🌳 ḰEḰEIȽĆ (Arbutus) — pronounced “qwwuqwuy-ilhch.” You can find this red-barked tree in dry, sunny habitats.

🌲XPÁ (Western Red Cedar) — pronounced “huh-pay.” This towering evergreen tree can live to be 1000 years old (or more).
