Tuesday practice Len Youden, Deputy Regional Fire Chief, demonstrated complex fire dynamics while using the Palmer House. In this controlled environment we were able to follow the flow path, observe fire behaviour and dynamics. Learned to interpret smoke behaviour, and understand the effects of ventilation.
The dollhouse demonstrates the effectiveness of closing bedroom doors to prevent fire and smoke from spreading into living spaces. This is a crucial fire safety message.

All smiles at practice last night. Had live vehicle fire training, practicing our all our skills as if we were on an actual scene. Radio communication, moved water, hose handled, used the piercing nozzle and extinguished the fire.

As well we welcomed Dave, our newest recruit who will be going to boot camp this weekend.

We are always looking for new members. If you think this looks like a great way to spend a Tuesday evening, pop in to the hall at 7 pm or call Chief John at (250-515-4790) to arrange a tour.

I bet we can put a smile on your face too !😁πŸ”₯πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ‘©β€πŸš’πŸš’
