This is sad… These people that do not understand that these countries have been overrun by criminals and they are being liberated and these Leftist Extremists don’t understand what they are doing. So ignorant

Friends, I want to speak frankly with you about what Edmonton City Council is about to do and something I’ve been warning about.

Council has voted in a 5.7% property tax hike for 2025. For a “typical” home (assessed around $465,500), that’s about $296/month going toward city services. And that’s just the municipal portion: once you factor in the province’s education tax increase, the total tax hit edges toward 6%.

I called this ahead of time. I warned that without strong fiscal restraint, Edmonton would lean on property owners to make up gaps and that’s exactly what’s happening.

We’re not just talking “a little more money” it’s meaningful, especially for families already feeling the squeeze.

Look, I understand the need for investing in our city: roads, transit, public safety, rec centres. But raising our taxes isn’t the only tool. We need more rigorous accountability. We need to find efficiencies, scrap waste, and make smart cuts, not just pass the burden onto regular homeowners.

If we keep doing things the same way, these tax increases will only become the new “normal.” That’s not sustainable for you, for me, or for the many Edmontonians working hard to make ends meet.

I’m standing with you. And as your voice, I’ll continue pushing for a more responsible and transparent budget. Because Edmonton deserves better than tax hikes by default

2025 Edmonton Election Status.

As of last night, approximately 60 per cent of all ballots cast were counted. We are currently in the process of checking and releasing the remaining half of last night’s count. At the count centre, workers are counting the remaining uncounted ballots from voting stations, special ballots and institutional ballots.

We aim to release preliminary results today.

Multiple factors impacted our procedures for both voting and the counting of ballots, including a labour shortage, power outages and technology issues. We know it is taking longer than initially anticipated, but we are working to ensure the confidence and integrity of the vote.

I had the honour of attending the Wahkohtowin Family Night at the Ridgewood Community Hall and what a beautiful evening it was. Thank you so much to for the kind invitation and warm welcome.

It was a powerful and uplifting celebration of Indigenous culture, community, and connection. The spirit of Wahkohtowin, kinship, relationship, and unity was deeply felt throughout the evening.
