Edwardsburgh Cardinal Fire Dept. has a long tradition of volunteerism. The stations are located in Spencerville (6055 Cty Road 44) & Cardinal (4035 Dishaw St)

With 45 active volunteers, two fire stations provide emergency services to the entire Township.

We are incredibly honoured to have been presented with an award from First Responders United in recognition of our continued support of their organization and mission.

First Responders United is a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic retreat programs and mental health support for first responders dealing with operational stress injuries and PTSD. Their work helps firefighters, paramedics, police officers, dispatchers, nurses, correctional officers, and other first responders access healing, peer support, and recovery resources specifically designed for the unique challenges of our profession.

In 2025 alone, our Association proudly donated over $5,000 to support their important work. This would not be possible without the generosity, dedication, and ongoing support of our members and community.

Thank you again to First Responders United for this recognition, and thank you to everyone who supports our fundraising efforts throughout the year. Together, we are making a difference. 🚒❤️

Today's the day for the Edwardsburgh Cardinal Fire Department Barrel Races at the Spencerville Mill.

You can arrive and purchase tickets between 1pm and 2:30pm. The barrels will be released at 2:30pm.

Grass fire season is here, and conditions are already dry. Fires can spread quickly, especially with wind, so we’re asking everyone to do their part to keep our community safe.

Use caution when burning, avoid open fires on windy days, properly dispose of smoking materials, and never leave a fire unattended. A small spark can turn into a big problem fast.

That’s a wrap! A wonderful three days attending the Spring Trade Show in Prescott. Your Edwardsburgh Cardinal firefighters teamed up with Prescott Fire and Augusta Fire to discuss fire safety and interact with area residents.

The Edwardsburgh Cardinal Fire Department Barrel Races will take place on Saturday, May 2nd at the Spencerville Mill.

Our volunteer firefighters aren’t just neighbours helping out—they are highly trained professionals who meet the exact same NFPA standards as full-time crews. They don’t just show up when it’s convenient; they:

• leave family dinners at a moment's notice

• jump out of bed for 3:00 AM calls

• step away from their "day jobs" the second the pager sounds

These individuals are the backbone of our fire services, protecting over 80% of Ontario’s geography. 🌲🚜

This , we’re looking past the gear at the people behind it. To the firefighters balancing careers, families, and the sudden ring of a pager: We see the dedication it takes to serve your community at 3:00 AM and still be at your desk by 9:00 AM.

Thank you for the commitment it takes to balance both roles. 👨‍🚒

A sincere thank you to the support of everyone who made this year's annual pancake breakfast another success. You are an incredibly supportive community, and for that we are truly blessed. In just a short 3.5 hours we had the pleasure of serving almost 400 of you your breakfast, brunch, or lunch!

We would also like to acknowledge the incredible support for those of you who donated supplies.

How could we have the breakfast without eggs, syrup, chocolate milk, and butter!

Our much-loved Pancake Breakfast is back for another year! 🥞

Join us for a delicious hot breakfast on Saturday, April 18 from 8:00–11:30 AM at Station 1 in Spencerville.

Advance tickets are now available for purchase at Station 1, Monday–Friday during business hours.

Ticket Prices:
• Adults: $12
• Children (4–12): $6
• Children 3 and under: Free

This event is a fundraiser for the Association, and we truly appreciate the community’s continued support. We can’t wait to see you there! 🚒

Last night some of our newer members demonstrated hazmat readiness by training in the specialized suits and PPA. **Remember during a hazardous environment you should stay uphill, upstream, and unwind!**
