Food hampers are available once again to help support households in our community. If a little extra support would be helpful for your household, we encourage you to register.

Items can be picked up October 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. by the sea cans at Chief Whistemnitsa Community Centre.

After a great conversation at our September gathering, we're looking forward to another opportunity to meet with community members in a welcoming and informal setting.

Join us for the next session of the Elder-Led Nlaka'pamux Arts & Cultural Learning Program as Elders and Knowledge Keepers share teachings about cultural protocols, traditional practices, and community values.

October 13 & 14, 2026
3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Cook's Ferry Indian Band Office, Spences Bridge

Participants will learn about:
• How to tie a head scarf and the reasons its worn
• Smudging with sage and sweet grass
• The purpose and significance of brushings
• Traditional teachings for thanks and offerings

Through storytelling, demonstrations, discussion, and reflection, participants will gain a deeper understanding of traditional teachings and how these practices continue to guide wellness, relationships, and community life.

Following the close of nominations for the 2026 Cook's Ferry Election, the Chief Electoral Officer has confirmed the following acclaimed positions:

Election Day is October 24, 2026. Polls are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with online voting available till 8 p.m. the same day. Be prepared to provide voter identification.

Canyon Coyote
Create a 22-inch tall coyote and have a "howling" good time learning new sewing skills.

Farmhouse Apron
A simple and practical apron that's perfect for everyday use.

Crisscross Apron
No ties, no strings, and fully reversible. It's like getting two aprons in one!

Participants Will Learn:
• Sewing and construction techniques
• Fabric preparation and assembly
• Creative skills and project finishing
