The 2026 Provincial Budget confirms a $136 Million infrastructure commitment to upgrading key transportation corridors in our community.

🚧 Highway 60: Twinning between Hwy 16 and 16A + a new rail overpass to reduce delays and improve safety.

🚧 Highway 16: The Province has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Highway 16 improvements, with detailed design set to begin in 2026 on a new interchange at Range Road 20 that will enhance safety and improve traffic flow. The funding includes a short-term commitment to construct intersection improvements at RR20 and Hwy 16A.

“These investments are crucial for ensuring safer travel and supporting the people and industries that rely on our highways every day,” said Parkland County Mayor Rod Shaigec. “On behalf of the County, I express our sincere appreciation to the Government of Alberta, and I look forward to continued collaboration as these projects move ahead.”

What do rainbows mean to you?? 🌈🌥️

There are a few sights that will always bring such glee as a rainbow. After a rain and when the sun comes out, it’s the warm feeling of the sun and the freshness of the rain that it peeps out and only for a few moments. In this part of the world, we see them maybe for 4-5 months of the year…

When Alex would grumble about something, we would make a big overarch with our arms, like a rainbow shape. We’d tell him “sunshine and rainbows!!” And he’d have no choice but shake his head then laugh a little bit. Sometimes he’d mockingly make little arches from his wrists but we insisted and doing the full arches from our armpits 🤣🤣🤣 it’s these memories and the sight of any rainbow that we will cherish 🥰❤️
