The District is updating the Perpetual Affordable Housing (PAH) Policy to evaluate what is working within the current policy and identify areas for improvement 🔍

Survey responses will be used to inform the development of the PAH Policy. This survey is open to everyone, but the District is especially interested in those who have applied, or are looking to apply, in a PAH unit or live in a PAH unit currently 🏠

Let's prevent bears from trick-or-treating in our neighbourhoods by ensuring pumpkins are out of paw's reach and keeping our garbage and organics totes inside, or locked at all times except on collection day.

Squamish, let’s show up to beat the 39.64% voter turnout in 2022! We are currently sitting at an estimated 6% voter turnout.

Bring a friend, and head down to Brennan Park Recreation Centre for one of two remaining in-person voting opportunities:

✔️ Thursday, October 15 from 12 to 8 p.m.
✔️ Saturday, October 17 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Qualified electors who are not on the List of Registered Electors can register on voting days – please bring two separate pieces of identification (one must have a signature) to prove identity and residency.

📢 Squamish, are you ready to "Shake Out"? Thursday, October 15 at 10:15 a.m. is the annual BC ShakeOut earthquake drill www.shakeoutbc.ca

60 million people worldwide will participate in the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills. Here in Squamish, residents and visitors alike are encouraged to participate and practice how to:

2️⃣ Cover!
3️⃣ Hold On!

Please note part of the ShakeOut BC exercise will involve a test of the Squamish Alert emergency notification system that will send a TEST emergency message from the District of Squamish to subscribed residents 🚨

Updated: The landfill is back up and running after an earlier power outage, however is only accepting cash payments at this time. The landfill will close for the day at 5:45pm.

⚠️ Postponed: Overnight Closure of Paradise Valley Bailey Bridge

‼️ Please be advised that the nighttime closures for the Paradise Valley Bridge Project, previously planned for October 13, 14 & 15, 2026, have been postponed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will share the rescheduled date(s) as soon as we receive confirmation from the contractor. Closure dates remain subject to change depending on construction progress, site conditions, and coordination requirements.

🚑 Note, in the event of a closure, exceptions will be made for emergency vehicles. If you have an emergency and need to cross the bridge during scheduled closure hours, please call 9-1-1

📆 Several other nighttime bridge closures between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. will be required throughout the project. Notification of closures will be provided in advance. ​​​
