🚧 PERRON PARK TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION – ST. ADOLPHE 🚧

The Rural Municipality of Ritchot would like to advise residents that construction work is underway at Perron Park in St. Adolphe.

Crews have begun drainage work, with pathway construction and landscaping around the play structures to follow. Due to the presence of heavy equipment and ongoing work, Perron Park will be closed to the public during working hours and considered an active construction zone for approximately 2–3 weeks.

⏰ Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

For the safety of all residents, please avoid the park during this time and use caution around piles of soil & equipment during non-working hours.

We anticipate that the majority of the work will be completed within the next 2-3 weeks, weather permitting.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make improvements to this community space.

🌿 Invasive Species Awareness Week (April 19–25)

This year, we’re highlighting the growing threat of the emerald ash borer (EAB), first detected in Winnipeg. While only about 22 trees were affected between 2017 and 2025, dozens of new cases have already been identified in 2026 and impacted trees must be removed.

EAB has devastated ash populations in other regions, including Ontario, where black ash is now listed as endangered.

Did you know? EAB can only fly about 15 km - most long-distance spread happens when people move firewood.

🚫 It is illegal to move firewood out of Winnipeg without permission.
πŸ”₯ Buy and burn firewood locally when camping or travelling.
Ash trees are common in our municipality and help protect our riverbanks. Let’s keep them that way πŸ™‚

By keeping firewood local, you can help protect our urban forest and slow the spread of emerald ash borer. Thank you for doing your part to protect Manitoba’s trees.
