Nonprofits are part of our everyday lives — often in ways we don’t even realize.

From the programs and services we rely on to the organizations that bring people together and strengthen our communities, the nonprofit sector is all around us.

CSCNL is proud to join Imagine Canada and organizations across the country in the You're Already Part of It / Vous en faites déjà partie campaign, helping shine a light on the many ways nonprofits make a difference in our lives and communities.

Whether you’ve participated in a program, volunteered your time, received support, or simply connected with your community — you’re already part of it. 💜

Last week, community sector organizations from the Burin Peninsula came together at the 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Economic Development Conference to share the important work they’re doing and the role the sector plays in supporting regional economic development. 👏

CSCNL’s Stephanie Janes, Program Manager (ASCEND), moderated the panel discussion, Community Economic Development on the Burin Peninsula, featuring Vanessa Jackman from the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation, Nora Tremblett from St. Gabriel’s Hall, and Immacula Drake from the St. Lawrence Historical Advisory Committee.

It was a great opportunity to share experiences, highlight the importance of the community sector, and explore how local organizations contribute to strong and thriving regions.

A big thank you to the EDANL - Economic Developers Association for Newfoundland and Labrador, the panelists, and everyone who joined the conversation!
