UPDATE: Revised Outage Time - Northern Peninsula

Please be advised that tomorrow’s planned outage on the Northern Peninsula (Saturday, October 17) will now begin at 6:00 a.m. due to anticipated weather conditions in the area. The restoration time is unchanged, and all customers should have their power back at 3:00 p.m.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thanks for your understanding as we carry out this work.

We'd like to advise our customers on the Northern Peninsula of two upcoming planned outages affecting communities north of, and including, Castor River South. These outages are required for our teams to complete critical capital upgrade work to transmission lines in the region and help maintain service reliability.

The outages are scheduled for Saturday, October 17, from 7:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday, October 18, from 7:00am to 5:00pm, pending suitable weather conditions. Please note, not all communities will be affected by both outages. A full list of affected communities is available on our website.

Due to the nature of the work being completed, requiring significant crew members and equipment - we ask residents and visitors to please stay aware of activity in the area.

We realize that outages are disruptive and we thank you for your understanding as we complete this essential work.

📣 REMINDER: Planned outages on the Northern Peninsula this weekend

This weekend, crews will be completing critical transmission line upgrades to help ensure continued service reliability on the Northern Peninsula.

Planned outages are scheduled for customers in communities north of, and including, Castor River South:

Saturday, October 17 | 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 18 | 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Session 2 of today’s Econext conference featured an engaging panel discussion on ‘The Green Economy Outlook: Major Projects on the Horizon.’ Gail Randell, VP Major Projects, joined representatives from North Atlantic, Corner Brook Pulp and Paper, Triple Point, Pattern Energy, and Renewable Energy Systems to share perspectives on the major projects shaping the province’s green economy.
The discussion highlighted how strategic electricity infrastructure, local supply chain participation, and collaboration can help advance Newfoundland and Labrador’s growth story. Thank you to Econext for inviting us to be part of the conversation!

The theme of this year’s conference is 'Building Our Green Economy: Innovation, Opportunities and Impact', and staff and co-op students from our Major Projects Department are looking forward to a great day of discussion about emerging opportunities in our province, while making valuable connections.

Thank you to the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce and the Labrador West Chamber of Commerce for welcoming us this week. We appreciated the opportunity to share updates on the new developments on the Churchill River and hear directly from members.

As work continues toward definitive agreements, ongoing engagement with Labrador communities, businesses and stakeholders remains an important part of the path forward.
