Our Programs

Alternative Learning:

We are leaders in the areas of community education and alternative learning. Thrive currently coordinates a continuum of educational programming with a focus on foundational literacy and numeracy as well as GED preparation. We are the only organization in Newfoundland and Labrador to offer GED prep along with a testing centre. Street Reach:

Street Reach wo

rks with over 40 volunteers to offer outreach directly on the streets of downtown St. John’s, and provides a mechanism to facilitate connections between individuals supported through Street Reach and various programs and services. It is the only street-based outreach program in the City of St. Coalition Against the Sexual Exploitation of Youth:

Thrive is the sponsoring agency for CASEY, a coalition working together to address issues related to the sexual exploitation of youth. CASEY specifically focuses on creating awareness of sexual exploitation, professional development opportunities, advocating for the creation of supportive services, and ensuring a coordinated approach to addressing this issue is embraced. The Blue Door Program:

Blue Door supports individuals in their efforts to exit sex trade activities, and/or sexually exploitive situations, including sex trafficking. The program is inclusive of gender and sexual orientation, and is the only one of its kind in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Big things are happening as we look back on our growth and impact over the 2025-2026 period!

We are incredibly excited to share some major updates on how our programs are expanding to better serve the community. Over the last several months, our team has been working hard behind the scenes to scale our initiatives, launch vital new councils, and meet people exactly where they are. From expanding essential frontline services to securing new community spaces, every milestone represents our ongoing commitment to building a more connected, resilient, and caring environment.

Every single program expansion, new door opened, and milestone achieved is a direct result of the trust, partnership, and collective care of our community. Thank you for showing up, supporting our vision, and working alongside us to ensure that everyone has the resources and community backing they need to thrive. Creating caring communities.

Behind every single number is a person, a story, and a step toward a stronger community. We are looking back at our impact from January to March 2026. Because of our incredible team, dedicated partners, and supporters like you, we've been able to continue creating a caring, resilient community where people can truly thrive.

These milestones don't happen in isolation. They are the result of collective care, trust, and community showing up for one another.

To everyone who advocates, supports, or partners with us, thank you for helping us open doors and create possibilities. Creating caring communities.

June is National Indigenous History Month.

This month is a dedicated time to honor, recognize, and celebrate the rich histories, diverse cultures, and enduring strength of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada and right here in our own province.

As an organization dedicated to community care, we believe honoring history must go hand-in-hand with active learning and reflection. We are incredibly grateful for the Indigenous community members, staffs, participants, and partners who enrich our work and guide our journey toward building a truly inclusive community.
